This online activity can be carried out in a blended learning or 100 % e-learning scenario. Millions of educators worldwide have brought the experience of the escape room to their classrooms. And there are sound pedagogical reasons for creating this type of challenge-based learning activity. A typical breakout session is purely student-driven, i.e. while teachers have prepped the materials, all puzzles and locks are given to the learners without additional explanations. The teacher does not step in. Learners must find their way out and break out on their own! This example reviews facts on NY, Ireland and Australia.
